GRASP links the vitality of youth and adult volunteers with the needs of low-income homeowners. Projects are selected from referrals by human service agencies and neighborhood associations. Projects will be matched to skills and experience of participating groups.

The Greater Grand Rapids Area is 145 miles northeast of Chicago, 150 miles west of Detroit, and 35 miles from the Lake Michigan shoreline. Our half-million-person city is culturally, racially and economically diverse. Like other metropolitan areas, Grand Rapids, struggles with a growing underclass population living in sub-standard housing, with few resources for sustained development.

We need you to make it all happen! We coordinate group projects anytime, but most participate in week-long summer work camps. While experienced workers are helpful, no experience is required. You'll receive information to help you plan and prepare your group with basic repair skills, understanding Christian service, and team building. Your group will leave inspired!

Youth work missions through GRASP provide a great opportunity for bonding and spiritual growth. A devotional curriculum is provided for lunchtime or evening discussions, and personal reflection. Plus, we've left all the freedom for you to use your own curriculum and materials to customize the spiritual experience that achieves your specific growth objectives.
